Microneedling

SkinPen Microneedling is an effective treatment for wrinkles, skin laxity, scars (including acne scars), and enlarged pores.

The treatment involves the use of the SkinPen Microneedling device to puncture the skin and prompt a regenerative process through healing. As the body repairs the damage caused by these punctures, new collagen fibers are grown and weakened collagen structures are rebuilt. The result is a beautiful lifted, smooth, glowing, rejuvenated appearance.

What to Expect from Microneedling

Some skincare products, especially those containing retinol, as well as direct sunlight should be avoided several days before treatment.

It is important to arrive for your treatment with a clean face. Our specialist will apply a topical anesthetic to the treatment area in order to make your treatment as comfortable as possible. The numbing cream will be allowed to absorb into the skin for about 30 minutes before the microneedling process begins. The treatment itself takes between 15 and 30 minutes.

Skincare products may be applied immediately following microneedling to allow for maximum penetration and absorption into the skin. While there is likely to be some redness or itching following treatment, there is no real downtime. Regular activity can be resumed immediately after your treatment and your regular skincare routine may be continued the next day.

Microneedling Results

3 to 6 treatments are usually needed to achieve the best results and treatments should be spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart. Follow-up treatment may be needed 8 to 12 weeks after this initial series of treatments in order to maintain results.

RF Microneedling

RF microneedling uses radiofrequency (RF) technology to add a heat component to the microneedling process.

This heat intentionally causes damage to fibers within the skin which prompts the regeneration of collagen and elastin. RF microneedling reaches deeper layers of the skin, producing more dramatic results than microneedling alone. Needle depth and heat may both be adjusted, making RF microneedling more adaptable to clients’ specific needs than traditional microneedling. RF microneedling is used to treat fine lines and wrinkles, enlarged pores, scars, skin laxity, discoloration, and textural issues.

What to Expect from Radiofrequency Microneedling

Following the application of a topical anesthetic, a sharp blade will be carefully dragged over the treatment area at such an angle that dead skin cells and hair will be removed without damaging the skin beneath. A solution will then be applied to the skin. The treatment takes 20 to 30 minutes and there is no downtime necessary with dermaplaning.

RF Microneedling Results

Clients should expect to see an improvement in treated skin within 2-3 weeks following treatment and will see continued improvement over the next 6 months. 3 to 4 monthly treatments are typically needed to achieve optimal results. With proper maintenance, results may last as long as 5 years. RF microneedling does not require any downtime.

Chemical Peels

A chemical peel is a non-invasive skin resurfacing procedure in which a chemical solution is used to treat skin issues such as fine lines, acne scars, discoloration, acne, uneven texture, and enlarged pores. Depending on the chemical solution used, chemical peels may be classified as superficial (only affecting the outer layer of skin), medium, or deep (penetrating to the deepest layer of skin). Different chemical peel solutions are used to treat specific issues.

    Chemical Peel Results

Depending on the depth of the chemical peel used, results may last anywhere from 1 month for some superficial peels up to several years for the deepest-penetrating peels. There is no real downtime associated with chemical peels, though makeup, exfoliants, and direct sunlight should be avoided for several days or more.

What to Expect from Chemical Peels

Prior to your chemical peel treatment, you may be asked to temporarily discontinue the use of exfoliants and some medications. At your treatment, your chemical peel solution will be applied to clean skin and will remain on the skin for 60 to 90 minutes. The treated skin will peel away for 3 to 10 days following treatment, revealing new skin which is beautiful, bright, even, and smooth. Care should be taken following treatment to prevent harsh products or sunlight from damaging the new skin.

      Dermaplaning

Dermaplaning is a quick and convenient non-invasive skin resurfacing treatment in which dead or dull skin cells are scraped from the surface of the treatment area to make skin appear brighter, tighter, and smoother. It is used to reduce fine lines, age spots, acne scars, and skin dullness. It also creates a smooth canvas for beautiful makeup applications. It may also be used in conjunction with other skin treatments.

      Dermaplaning Results

Results from dermaplaning last about 3 to 4 weeks and treatments may be spaced together as closely as every 3 weeks.
